Unleash the Power by Helen Rogers

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone’ – Neale Donald Walsh

Many new year resolutions seem to be about giving something up, depriving oneself or pushing our sedentary bodies to the limit. The sales of exercise bikes, rowing machines and subscriptions to slimming programmes go through the roof. Money is no object in the quest for the perfect body. We employ personal trainers and join our local gym. We are on a mission to succeed. And sometimes, some of us do.

But what happens about our personal development, our careers, how we juggle family and work. How do we become the best that we can be in whatever area of life that we choose? How much investment do we put in. How many of us put, ‘I will develop my leadership skills’ as a new year resolution. And how many of us will employ the equivalent of a personal trainer to help us get there?

It does not actually matter what labels our resolutions have, we need some tools to achieve them. We need confidence, resilience, determination and above all a belief in ourselves that we can do it, whatever ‘it’ may be. This is where hiring a coach will be worth its weight in gold. Whether it’s, life changes, career, wellness, or leadership a coach will help you transform your life. Coaches can provide a safe, secure, confidential space for us to think, to reflect and to plan. They can help us navigate through our world so that instead of being overwhelmed by it we can clearly identify what it is we want, and we can then turn that into action.

So, as we approach the New Year, and we think about resolutions perhaps we should pause and reflect. Instead of that exercise bike or gym membership what about investing in ourselves on a different and perhaps more profound level. What about buying ourselves the gift of coaching? If we do, who knows what amazing things might happen.

Each person holds so much power within themselves that needs to be let out. Sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, a little coaching, and the greatest things can happen’ –  Peter Carroll
